Thanksgiving Break!

We spent a wonderful week in Van Nuys, California visiting Jerry's sister Tammy and her family over Thanksgiving break.  My brother-in-law John works as an editor on The Voice and was able to get us behind the scenes passes.  We got to go into the studio and watch rehearsals.  The boys even got to see Pharrell from a few feet away!  While his sister Tammy and I got to see a live show (Taylor Swift performed), the boys went with their uncle and Jerry on a behind the scenes tour of the universal lot.  They got to see Jaws, Whoville, where they filmed Spiderman, World War Z, the Walking Dead, etc.  That night the boys wanted to go to iFly.  They took turns skydiving in a HUGE tube!  We also loved our visit to the Wildlife Center!  Jerry's sister scheduled a special encounter for us with many of the animals there.  We especially loved feeding the porcupines and sloth.  Thanksgiving dinner was delicious!  Then we headed to the movies!  We loved spending time with our family at the park.  The boys had so much fun playing football with their cousin.  We can't wait for them to come out and visit next month for Christmas!  We have so much to be thankful for!  We hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving too!  xoxo
Are you ready to fly???!!!

Going to iFLY again was at the top of Brody's list for this visit.

Happy Veteran's Day!!!!

Yesterday my school had a HUGE Veteran's Day Celebration!!!  We were so honored to have my dad be one of our many guests.  The day started at 7:15am with a continental breakfast in our school cafeteria.  So many people came up and thanked my dad for his service to our country.  As I headed out to recess duty, the boys took my dad into our library to see some WWI memorabilia.  Next, our entire school (1,100 kids+staff) headed outside for a beautiful ceremony filled with the chorus singing "I'm Proud to Be An American", the band playing the "Star Spangled Banner", and the cute kiddos waving their flags to show their support of our military.  Each veteran that attended stood up and told their name, which branch of military they were a part of, and when/where they served (past and present).  The whole ceremony was so touching!  Once the ceremony was over, all of the kids in our whole school lined the hallways to cheer on, thank, and high five each veteran!  We're especially proud of my dad who served his country from 1956-1960 in the Air Force.  You're our HERO!!!!  xoxo

Each classroom decorated their door to honor the veterans.  Here is my class door.  Can you see my dad to the right of the door handle...so handsome and brave!

Breakfast was delish!

My cute class waving their flags!  Red, white, and blue day...woot woot!

Here are the veterans listening to the band play.  My dad is in the very back row waving his flag (center of picture- red shirt and blue hat).

Here's the chorus singing patriotic songs. :)

My dads speech was perfect!  We love you!!!

Wyatt is so proud of his Papa!

There were cards and artwork for the vets on the tables of the cafeteria.  Here is the one my dad got.  This is the quote on the front of the card (inside is on the next picture).

Here is the message inside of the card.  Love it!
God Bless America!  xo

Boosterthon FUN RUN!

Yesterday the boys both participated in the Boosterthon Fun Run at school!  They both ran over 35 laps to raise money for our school!  They each raised $50!  Way to go! :)
Good luck Wyatt!

Each class had to come up with a unique class name.  Wyatt's class name was "Romeli's Flaming Monkeys"!

Wyatt starting off next to his teacher!  :)

Run Wyatt run!

Brody getting ready for the run with his buddies Jackson and Tyler!  I didn't get as many pictures of Brody because his class ran at the same time as my class.  I was busy marking the back of their shirts for each lap they ran.

Nice job Brody!  All 35 laps!!!  Woot woot!

Trick or Treat!

We went trick or treating in my neighborhood on Clara Lane one last time.  The boys wanted to see some of their friends and my neighborhood has a lot of action!  Susie and Theresa's kids joined the fun!  Everyone had a blast and got LOTS of candy!
I was able to leave my classes Halloween Party and stop to visit Wyatt and Brody's Halloween classroom parties.  Here is Wyatt getting ready to make a caramel apple...yummy!  He was dressed up like a jester!

Jerry had the day off so he joined in on the fun in Wyatt's classroom!

We stopped into Brody's 4th grade classroom too!  He's too cool now to have dad stay, so we just popped in for just a few minutes.  He took advantage of "Hats for Hope" day.

Brody had to listen to a poem describing Ichabod Crane (from Sleepy Hollow) and come up with what he thought he looked like.  Great job!

The evil jester is ready to trick or treat!

The psycho hockey player is ready too!

Natalie and Tatum were neon girls!  FUN!

Eric was a zombie and Amanda decided to not dress up this year.  Nick was playing in the band at his schools football game.  Ready or not...here we come!

So many cool houses in our neighborhood!!

Oh my goodness!  Look at this happy guy and all of his candy!  We hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Pumpkins!

We had so much FUN carving pumpkins for Halloween!  Both of the boys wanted to make their own design for their pumpkins.  They turned out so cool!

This happy boy LOVED pulling out the pumpkin guts!

Brody did too...boys love ooey gooey stuff!

Oh my, this look of concentration on Wyatt's face is too cute...my dad too!

Great job Brody!

Fantastic job boys!  Thanks to Jerry and my dad for assisting. :)

Wyatt is the Oct. Student of the Month!

We're so proud that Wyatt was selected by his 2nd grade teacher to be Student of the Month!  Mrs. Romeli said that Wyatt is one of the hardest working students in her class!  We're so proud of you buddy!  Three years in a row...WOW!
We couldn't be more proud!  YOU ROCK!
