Brody's Thanksgiving Feast/ Turkey Trot

Every year Brody's school has a Turkey Trot.  It is a short race around the playground area.  We had so much fun cheering him on.  He did a fantastic job despite his shoe coming off!  Oops!

Yesterday Brody's class performed a cute Thanksgiving play.  When I'd asked him what part he was playing he said "a dead pilgrim".  I wondered how that was going to go, but he pulled it off brilliantly.  When the narrator announced that some pilgrims had died while on the Mayflower coming to America, Brody dramatically fell to the floor (everyone in the crowd laughed).  Afterwards we all enjoyed a wonderful feast!  After lunch we headed over to the park that is behind the school and let the kids play.  It was 80 degrees out...gorgeous!  To end the day we signed Brody out of school early and headed to the movies to see Arthur Christmas (cute movie).  What a day!  We have so much to be thankful for this year!  We're very blessed to have our health and the love of our family and friends.  We hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!
The boys in Brody's class were so excited for the big race!

Go Brody!

This is Brody's friend Noah.  He's moving to North Carolina after Christmas.  He'll miss him so much!

Grandma and Papa hung out with us all day!

We were so excited that Mimi could get off of work to join us for the feast!

Here is Brody's pilgrim that he made for the play...cute!

Here's the Mayflower ship that the kids made.

Here's the dead pilgrim part!

At the end each student explained what their part was in the play.

This is Brody's teacher Mrs. Wagner...we LOVE her!

We hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving Day with your loved ones!  xoxo

Wyatt's Thanksgiving Program

On Friday, Wyatt's preschool class performed the cutest Thanksgiving Program!  They sang songs, did the chicken dance, and ate a yummy Thanksgiving feast for lunch.  It's so strange for us to think that this is our last year of preschool!  We've been with Happy Apple for five years in a row!
Wyatt volunteered for a speaking part in the program.  Ms. Lindy had read "The Little Old Lady That Swallowed a Pie" the Thanksgiving version.  Wyatt's line was "She was looking quite pallid from eating that salad".  He nailed it!  Then he took the salad he's holding and put it in the little old ladies belly.

Here's the "little old lady" named Kiera...cute!

Look at these kids singing LOUD and PROUD!

I couldn't resist posting this one too!

First, the kids did the chicken dance.  Then, all the parents and visitors got up and did the chicken dance (fast version) too!

Thanks for coming Mimi!

We're thankful that Grandma and Papa came too!  We appreciate them bringing a turkey and stuffing for the feast!  Yum yum!

Wyatt had a fantastic time performing in the program!  We are so proud of you Wy Wy!

Wyatt with his best friend Connor!  Can you tell how much they love each other???!!!

Happy Veterans Day!

Today we celebrated Veterans Day by heading downtown to watch the parade.  The kids all had fun waving their flags at the members of the military.  It was great to see my dad recognized by people in the parade thanking him for his service.  Here are some of the highlights from our wonderful day!
This truck looked just like Mater from Cars!

We couldn't believe how many military dogs there were!

Love, love, loved hearing the bagpipes.

This guy was one of our favorites!  Check out his ride!

The pom pom seniors surprised us by having the lady on the far left do the splits right in front of us!  I missed the picture because I was in SHOCK!  You go girls!

Crazy boys trying on their cousin Eric's hat!

Goof ball!

Happy Veterans Day!  God bless our vets!

Veterans Day Breakfast

Yesterday Papa came to Brody's school for a Veterans Day Breakfast.  Kids from all over the school had made my dad a place mat and cards thanking him for his service in the Air Force.  The choir sang, the band performed, their was a slide show of veterans (which Papa was a part of), lots of food, and Brody was selected by his teacher to read part of a poem in front of the whole audience.  What an AMAZING day!  We're so thankful for all of the men and women serving in the past and present.  God bless you all!!!
Get a look at this handsome fellow!

Brody is so proud of his Papa!  xoxo

Papa's place mat, program, and cards were so cute!  On the back of the green card a little girl had written "The sun shines a little brighter because of you".

Trick or Treat!

Yesterday was filled with classroom parties!  Jerry volunteered to run a center in Brody's classroom and I provided "worms in dirt" for snack time at Wyatt's preschool.  We finished off the night by going Trick or Treating in our neighborhood with their cousins.  Hope you all had a safe and Happy Halloween!

Brody dressed up as John Cena for storybook day!

Yummy snacks!

Candy corn math!

Brody with his buddy Ethan...cute!

Wyatt dress up like a karate kid!

I love this picture of Wyatt's class!!!  Precious!

Wyatt putting gummy worms in his dirt (chocolate pudding and crushed up Oreo cookies)...delish!

After the party we headed over to the senior center for a costume parade.  The seniors loved hearing the kids sing Halloween songs!

On Halloween night Brody dressed up like Hulk Hogan (an old school WWE wrestler)!  When I asked him to strike a pose he put the poor skeleton in a head lock!

The Hulkster's classic pose!

Wy wanted to be Jeff Hardy again (a WWE wrestler) for Halloween night.  Crazy kid!

Wy Wy hanging out on Grandma's lap getting a snuggle.

My mom got my sisters and I matching shirts...love it!

All 7 grandkids with their Grandma and Papa!
