Father's Day 2014!

We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday and Sunday this year.  Jerry had to work on Sunday, so went out to eat on Sat. instead.  Jerry wanted to eat at Fajitas (Yum) and then have a family movie night.  SO much fun!  We spent all day Sunday with Papa!  We went to church and then back to my mom and dad's house for swimming and family dinner.  We're blessed to have Jerry and my dad in our lives.  They are both such strong role models and love us endlessly!

Breakfast in bed...yummy!
The boys made Jerry a few homemade items for Father's Day!
Jerry loved his plaque and poem!  Brody picked out the stickers...ha ha!
We love you Papa!
My dad's 76th birthday is June 17th, so we celebrated his birthday too!
Brody painted this frame for Papa!  A little thank you gift for being his sponsor for his 1st communion/confirmation.
We had to get this shirt for Papa!  We loved the gray side hair and beard!
We made Papa a plaque too...fishing theme.  He loved it!

Camping June 2014!

Last week we spent four wonderful days with our family and friends up north camping!  We went to our favorite spot at Woods Canyon Lake.  We were able to reserve four camping sites all next to each other.  We had so much fun fishing, hiking, biking, playing cards, etc.  We can't wait for next years big trip!!!
Everyone was fishing for crawdads!
Eric was taking in the beautiful scenery!
Wyatt and Connor were using teamwork to catch their crawdads!
Amanda is going to be a senior this year!  She is taller than me...I can't believe it!

We couldn't believe how many elk we saw on this trip!  We've been coming to Woods Canyon Lake for years and we saw more elk sightings this year than any other year.  We saw them in our campsite, in the meadow, getting a drink down by the lake, etc.
Here is a picture of the meadow...gorgeous.
The boys loved exploring the meadow area.  Here's Wyatt posing on this huge rock!
These guys love hanging out together!
We love the Halley's!
Silly faces!
The bike trails along the rim are AMAZING!  We had to take one last bike ride before we left!  Such wonderful memories!

Brody's First Communion/Confirmation!

Yesterday Brody received his First Communion and Confirmation!!!  He chose my dad to be his sponsor throughout his full initiation  into the Catholic church!  Here is the testimony that my dad wrote about Brody.
"Brody is a typical young boy who is curious and anxious to know and experience the wonders of the world.
He has been raised in a good Catholic family and has attended Christian Formation classes.  Brody has
been a caring and giving person to his family, friends, and classmates.  He is a good example as a
disciple of Jesus and has practiced it everyday.   He listens to the knowledge and wisdom that his parents
and grandparents teach him and is thankful for their help.
Receiving the sacrament of confirmation will help him have confidence and courage to give
testimony to his faith.  The Gift of the Holy Spirit will always be with him as he travels down the road
of life.  He'll then enjoy the experience of helping and giving to his fellow man and living in the spirit
of the Lord.
Brody is ready to be a full fleged member of the Catholic Church."   Jim Bazzell, Grandfather

My dad and Brody attended classes all last week in preparation of the BIG day.  This "saintly sash" was one of the assignments.  Brody wanted to learn more about St. Patrick.  He shared some interesting facts with his class.
Brody with his Papa who he chose to be his sponsor.  :)
After mass we headed over to my mom and dad's for a BBQ and swimming!

We were so happy that Mimi and Great Gram could join us!

Grandpa Eddie and Debbie came too!!!
Brody with his brother and cousins who have always supported him.
We couldn't be more proud of you Brody!!!  God bless you!  xo
Brody loved participating in the communion!  Yay!
Thanks again to Papa for being such an AMAZING role model for all of us!
It's official!  Congratulations Brody!!!!  We love you!!!

Eric- The Other Mary Poppins!

Last Friday night my nephew Eric performed in a play called "The Other Mary Poppins"!  He was the BEST Bert I've ever seen!  We are all so proud of his hard work!  He nailed his lines and sang his heart out!  I especially loved his dance moves!  This was his last performance at Hi-Star as he is graduating and moving on to a new school.  He's been in 10 different plays while he's been at Hi-Star! We love you Eric!!!  YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's safe to say that Eric had the biggest cheering section!  Anyone who knows him just loves him.  In the picture are former ABA therapists, his horse therapy instructor, his developmental doctor, various coaches, members of our church, friends, and of course his entire family who has encouraged him to be the best he can be!  We can't tell you how proud we are of his MANY accomplishments!  xoxo
