Great Skate ROCKS!

Yesterday we had so much fun at Great Skate!!!  The boys both needed a "skate mate" because it was their first time on roller skates.  We all loved it!  Great Skate brought back a lot of memories for Jerry and I.  It's where our Jr. high school dances were and where we hung out when we were young.  We both needed a minute to get our skating feet back in gear.  We can't wait to go back!
Brody with his buddy Nolan trying to get used to the roller skates.

Best buds!

Wyatt was having a great time!

We all loved jamming to the music!  They even had a cool light show!

The dads out on the roller rink helping out their boys! :)

CRAZY boys!

Over the weekend our neighbor Eric came over and spent the night!  The boys loved having him over!  They asked if they could get their suits on and slip down the slide with water.  Jerry got a tarp for the landing strip and it was on!
Go Eric!!!

Brody's goal is to shoot right through Eric's legs!  Ready...set...Go!

He made it!

Go Wy Wy!

These three had a blast sliding on the homemade water slide, playing flashlight tag at night, and creating a Money in the Bank wrestling match (with themselves as the wrestlers). :)

Brody's Quarter Collection

Brody was so excited to receive a package in the mail yesterday!  It was a map for collecting the state quarters.  He's been hooked on this app called "Stack the States"!  He's learned where every state is located, memorized the shape of each state, the capitals, flags, etc.  So, that led into him collecting the state quarters.  Now that he's pretty much mastered that game, he's moving on to "Stack the Countries"!  Seriously...he's only going into 2nd grade!  Tonight I went to his Curriculum Night at school and was looking at all of the student work on the wall.  The question was, "What is something your good at?", he said "the states".  Next question, "If you had a million dollars what would you do?", he said "go to New Hampshire".  What a crack up!  He makes me smile! :)
He makes sure that the kids who look at this quarter collection wash their hands before touching it.  How funny!

Adding in more quarters.  I think we need around 15 more to make the collection complete!

Wyatt wanted to get in on the fun too!  It surprises me how much info. he picks up from playing the app too.  When we were camping he was showing me flagstone rocks on the ground that looked like the shapes of various states..."Look mommy, that looks like Massachusetts".  WOW!

Brody had to get a picture with Trixie too!  He loves her so much!

Almost complete!!!

He said his favorite coin so far is New Mexico!  Love him! xxoo

First Day of School!

Both boys were ready to head back to school today!  Wyatt started kindergarten and Brody is going into 2nd grade.  They both love their teachers and each of them had a friend in their class.  We're looking forward to an awesome year!

After dropping them off I went for a bike ride, showered, went to the library, and then met a friend for a movie.  Awww!  Going to the library empty handed was soooo weird!!!  I've taken the boys to story time for years!  I was watching the other moms hustling into story time with strollers and toddlers and I couldn't believe that I'm totally out of that phase of my life.  I'll miss those days, but I'm also looking forward to seeing them become more independent too.  I'm planning on subbing and volunteering at their school this year.
Handsome boys!

My baby was nervous today.  He said his favorite part of the day was "sleepytime".  He said it was too short though.

Brody said the highlight of his day was "lunchtime".  He got to sit by two of his buddies.

I was so glad to see Wyatt get out on the playground and play.  Cool shades!

Wy with his buddy Chase who lives down the street and is in his class!

Wyatt with his teacher Mrs. Hatfield.  We know each other from working at my old school together.  We are sooo lucky to have her this year!  She's AMAZING!

I was anxiously waiting for the boys to arrive home on their bus.  Thank goodness it has air conditioning...it was so hot!  My car said it was 116 degrees!!!

Home safe and sound!  Whew!  Wyatt loved his first day on the school bus!  Brody is a pro and will watch over his brother.

Camping with Friends!

We had the best time camping with our good friends last week!  We headed up north to the Mogollon Rim.  We fished at Woods Canyon Lake and tented it in the Spillway Campground.  The boys loved fishing, hiking in the meadow, biking, playing board/card games, laser gun fights, roasting marshmallows, etc.  It was 70 degrees up north the day we came home (lovely)!
We always look forward to fishing at our favorite lake.  Isn't it pretty?

I loved it that the boys wanted to use their imaginations when playing with these sticks.

Best buddies!

Looking for minnows and crawdads.

Good luck boys!!!

Each of the kids caught at least one fish every day!  Size didn't matter one bit!  Brody was as proud as a peacock with this cute little blue gill.

Yay!  The Spongebob pole came through!

Even when it started to rain and then hail, the boys still wanted to continue fishing!!!  WOW!

Goof balls!

Jerry called me on the walkie talkie and said for us to come and get the boys at the dock.  The rain didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon.  I just had to get a picture of them coming in all huddled under the canopy.  They're still smiling!

Laser gun fighting in the forest ROCKS!!!  Game on!

The boys snuggled up with their buddies to watch a movie at night.  The adults had fun playing card games!

Playing games while waiting out the rain in the Halley camper.

Did you know they have WWE UNO?!  Cool!

One last day of fishing!  Let's soak up this wonderful weather!

The Halley Family!

The boys loved hiking down in the meadow!  They loved finding gardener snakes, butterflies, bugs, etc.

Everyone looked forward to a yummy smore at night!

My sister and her kids met up with us and went to this beautiful natural bridge.

Then we hiked down the trail to see what was underneath the bridge.

The kids all loved hiking over these slippery rocks and pools of water that were under the bridge.

Wyatt found a perfect little hole in the wall!

The boys were so happy to meet up with their cousins!

Peek a Boo!

Soooo cute!

This was our second camping trip this summer!  We can't wait to go back next year!!!
